Are we talking right at this minute or overall?

As I understand it it's right at this minute.

Okay then. I might do both anyway.

I'm pretty much in trouble with this favourite song thing, usually listening to the music of games...err...Planescape Torment, Fallout right now, mostly instrumental, all time favourite H. Shore:LOTR and the OST of Resident Evil. ;-) So know what?;-)
shamefully: I don't think I heard any of your songs, except for maybe the Rammstein one.

I could never get into Planescape: Torment. I was really into the Baldur's Gate series, and the first fanfic I wrote was Baldur's Gate fanfic, but PS:T didn't have the same appeal. I didn't like having to play The Nameless One.

I dunno. I liked the dark atmosphere of Planescape. And the story was damn good and exciting (strange taste I have, I know). Not so much a Baldur's Gate fan, I liked Icewind Dale series a bit more and of course Fallout which was the beginning of everything for me. And now the Elder Scrolls:Morrowind. Oh yes, Master. :) Have you ever played that?

Me??? I'm an antique. No-one will have heard of any of the minuets that Betsy Ross taught me.

Speakin' o' which, I've never even heard of your songs. How do you manage to keep so up-to-date?

:: broods like Angel, though not to Barry Manilow ::

I have a teenage daughter. However these songs aren't all up to date by any means. The Rammstein song is current, released October last year, and the Something Corporate track is from 2003, but the rest are significantly older.

The Skids are punk. 'Into the Valley' is from 1979. Big Country were formed in 1981 by The Skids' guitarist Stuart Adamson, and 'Chance' is from their debut album. Stuart Adamson commited suicide on December 16 2001.

Runrig are still going strong but they also were formed in the seventies and 'Healer in my Heart' is from 1991.

Roger Waters was one of the original members of Pink Floyd (in 'Hush' Giles reveals to Olivia that his own claim to have been one of the original members of Pink Floyd was a lie) and 'The Bravery of being out of range' is from a solo album he did in 1992.

Well, I know the first four, didn't have a clue on the fifth and lost track of anything Roger Waters did much after Pros and Cons... Still, I think the recognition rate isn't bad.

Aargh! I was hoping this meme would pass me by as really I don't listen to music all that much lately but I'll have a think and hopefully within the next couple of days you'll find out what six I come up with...

Perhaps The Animals 'House of the Rising Sun', Lindisfarne 'Fog on the Tyne', something from the High Level Ranters, Dire Straits 'Tunnel of Love', Geordie 'All Because of You', Sting 'Waters of Tyne'? ;-)

Actually, one mp3 that hubby recently transferred to my PC that I had already decided was going to make the list was Dream Academy with Life in a Northern Town. Geordie was just a little before my time, but I did see AC/DC the last time they played the arena (though you did suggest in one of your fics that they don't count as 'local'). Surprised you didn't suggest the Wildhearts as well, though I was far less impressed when they supported Motorhead a couple of years ago than when they supported AC/DC... As for Dire Straits it'd have to be Romeo and Juliet if anything (though starting uni in the year that Brothers in Arms came out and living in halls of residence did kinda put me off for life). Then again, I'm just an adoptive Geordie, so there's a few on your own list that might be more appropriate and Deacon Blue just might make an appearance but it's okay... You don't need to worry about me slipping in the Bay City Rollers.

I was, of course, totally taking the piss.

I've got Deacon Blue's 'Real Gone Kid', 'Dignity', and 'Chocolate Girl' on my hard-drive, and I was going to use 'Chocolate Girl' as the title of a Kendra-centric fic but I managed to catch the plot bunny and strangle it before it bit me.
