bogwitch just did a post that reminded me that ladywenham had been lamenting the absence of Drabble nominations for her William-centric Round One of the Raison d’Etre Awards. So I knocked off a quick 100 word William drabble based on something that Willow says in Part 5 of “Angel of the Morning”.
Never Mind The What?
William waited nervously as the editor of ‘The Strand’ magazine scrutinised his submission for their poetry section.
“Hmm,” the man mused, “You have something there, definitely. I rather like this passage.
‘I am an antichrist
I am an anarchist
Don’t know what I want but
I know how to get it
I wanna destroy the passer-by
I wanna be, anarchy!’
I must admit that it has a certain flair, and a real vitality, but I’m not sure that I can use it. I think that perhaps it’s ahead of its time. It lacks that certain element of effulgence.”
