I actually have a Life!
Welcome to new Friends maddeinin and tesla321

I had to go out to a work social function tonight. Hours of my own time spent away from the Internet! The horror.

But actually I quite enjoyed it. Lots of the girls were wearing low-cut tops, so the scenery was pleasant. I even was persuaded to get up and have a go at the karaoke. Guess what I sang (and very well, I'm told)?

SMELLS LIKE TEEN SPIRIT!

Here we are now, entertain us ...

And you were superb, me old china. But never mind these girls in low cut tops... what about the ones with nice bottoms, kinky tights and kinky boots, eh? :D

They have bits below boob level?

They do, and they can be quite delicious with banoffee toffee sauce. :D

Possibly... ;) She agrees but is too much of a lady to take ownership of the comment herself. ;)

I came here via Hurry Sundown, and I'm reading my way through your fic. I can't feed you directly because I'm on my mom's laptop. But, I plan on agitating for more of the adorable Bot. I just finished "It's Got to be Perfect," and adored it. Going back for more, actually, right now.

and anyone who quotes Milne? Cool.

I really must get back to the Bot stories, but I plan to take my current WIP "Life in Shadow" to a cliffhanger first so that people get really frustrated while I'm busy with the Bot and "Pandora's Boxer".

Glad you liked "It's Got to be Perfect".

"Bother!" said Pooh. "I'm just going through the motions, faking it somehow, I'm not even half the bear I - ow!" as he fell into a Heffalump trap.

LOL...I thought I was the only one who found being away from the 'net a tragedy. Social life, what's that?

And I'm sure you were wonderful at the karaoke. I wouldn't be brave enough, not unless I had much more to drink than I normally indulge in.
speakr2customrs From: speakr2customrs Date: November 27th, 2004 03:26 am (UTC) (Link)
Oh, I'd had far more to drink than I usually do; a pint of lager. I'm normally teetotal, but we got two free drinks included and my first Diet Coke didn't last anywhere near long enough so I got a beer to see me through the rest of the night.

I think it was my first alcohol of 2004, although I might have had a small glass of Bailey's at New Year, I can't remember for sure.

I was brave enough because I saw Nirvana doing "Smells Like Teen Spirit" live on "Top of the Pops" (the UK's main music TV programme, or was at that time anyway) when SLTS was first out, and Kurt Cobain was obviously smashed out of his brain and he was utterly dreadful. I reckoned I couldn't possibly be as bad as that.

I like the fruity drinks myself, although I'm developing a taste for wine. This time of the year, however, I prefer tea or cider (the non-alcoholic kind) for the warmth. My room is freezing most of the time.

And having seen people perform while completely smashed, I can believe you'd do better. :)

Finally got settled sufficiently to read this, after the nerve wracking experience of having my hard drive die with a weeks worth of fic not backed up (dumb).

Love the world-saveage and Dawn having managed to aquire one boyfriend worth having, and Harmony being the news bearer.

Never terribly sure about Spike getting human, but I like the way you handle it here. And like, very much, Willow and Spike continuing the dance that started in Lover's Walk.

Julia, who has actually travelled along the banks of the Wishkah many times.

Thanks, glad you liked it.

I'm still wondering how I'm going to work the World-famous Dancing Poodles into "Lithium".

I'd be delighted for you to Friend me. If I didn't have an ego the size of a dinosaur-killer asteroid I wouldn't have an LJ in the first place. I'm Friending you right back.

I was a fan of theohara before all the cool kids were doing it, and was one of her very first Fandom LJ Friends as opposed to Real Life friends on LJ; she was one of my very first LJ Friends too. We originally met (virtually) when I sent her a drooling fan feedback e-mail, and she sent me a nice fan e-mail back!

I thought your icon was Dawn at first, until I checked out your LJ before Friending you; when I realised who it really is it inspired a plot bunny for a 'Crouching Spike, Hidden Dawn' fic: but I've got too much else to do right now so I shot the plot bunny with a poisoned needle.

I hadn't even realised Zhang Ziyi wrote BtVS and HP fanfic.

Whether the plot bunny survives or not depends on how fast Zhang Ziyi can get back with the antidote to the poison.

Even though it has been poisoned it has still bred and given birth to another plot bunny, post NFA, based on Spike's hyperactive tendencies, and called "Crouching Tigger, Hidden Dragon".

So I shot that one as well.

I'm hardwired to exploit ambiguities. It's the predator instinct; seeing an opening and moving in to attack. And it's how I come up with a lot of the plotlines for my fics (or at least the crazy drabbles).

However, I'm now picturing Meghan stealing the Green Destiny sword and fleeing across South Carolina, starting bar fights, and battling warrior monks in the treetops.

The "Crouching Tigger, Hidden Dragon" plot bunny has now fled into the world of A A Milne, where it is passing itself off as one of Rabbit's Friends and Relations. I can only hope it falls into a Heffalump trap.

Now you're doing it.

But the warrior monkeys are, of course, led by Monkey, aka Great Sage Equal of Heaven, the simian deity who ate the Celestial Peaches and was thus exiled from Heaven and forced to escort the monk (Buddhist priest) Tripitaka from China to India to collect the Sacred Scrolls.

The ultimate crossoever fic. Who, indeed, will survive? My money's on the Plot Bunnies.

Or maybe Gidget.

You've just joined the list of LJ Friends (along with theohara, enigmaticblues, nihilistbear, calove, and missmurchison) who I would shower with flowers and chocolates and propose to were it not for inconvenient obstacles such as thousands of miles of distance and me being already happily married and old enough to be the father of more than one of that list.

Oh, I'm extremely Giles.

Except for the being good-looking enough to star in a famous series of coffee commercials bit, alas.

On the plus side, I'm a lot more hi-tech than Giles.

Well, apart from being male, het, not Jewish, and not babbling as much, there are some similarities. I'm even a redhead (where it hasn't turned grey). And I loved Tara.

But mainly I'm Giles, with added computer literacy.

Gillow? Wiles?
