I’ve had my 1,000th review at ‘Twisting the Hellmouth’. To celebrate reaching that milestone I’m writing a special ficlet crossing over the Buffyverse with Larry Niven’s ‘Ringworld’ – the fandom that gave me my on-line alias – but I haven’t finished it yet, and the next of the Illyria drabbles isn’t ready yet either, and so in the meantime here is a stupid Buffyverse drabble. The title is based on that of a BtVS/LotR crossover at TtH; one that I haven’t read and have no intention of reading. 100 words, G.
“Amy’s acting funny,” Willow said. “She’s rubbing her nose against the wire of the cage, over and over, like an obsession. She’s worn away all the fur on her snout and she’s starting to lose skin. Can you help her break the habit, Giles?”
“Hmm.” Giles adjusted the position of his glasses and peered at Amy the Rat. “I see what you mean. I doubt if I can do anything to help, though.”
Willow gave him the puppy-dog eyes treatment. “Please.”
Giles shook his head. “Dammit, Willow, I’m a Watcher, not a magician. I can’t pull habits out of rats.”
