A title in search of a story
I woke up yesterday full of a burning desire to write a fic, set either in the Discworld or the Forgotten Realms, called 'The Dragon With The Girl Tattoo'.

I had nothing else, just the title, and I haven't written it. I doubt if I ever will. All it's done is to slow down my work on my 'Tara in the world of Conan' story slightly. However if the idea is any use to anyone else feel free to use it.

Current Music: Magnum, 'Dragons Are Real'

Could be the Temeraire universe, of course...

I never thought of that because I intensely dislike the concept behind the Temeraire universe.

Could be a Game of Thrones fic?

I didn't even know there were dragons in 'Game of Thrones'. Or tattoos.

That's a fantastic title. It would be a shame to waste it.

I;ve always wanted to write a Supernatural fic called 'Ain't Nothing But A Hellhound Dog', but I probably never will.

From what I've seen real Supernatural episodes seem to have that sort of title anyway.

True. But they probably wouldn't have the pun.

If you did write it, I bet that whatever it turned out to be, it'd be better than the wretched Larsson novel. Not sure if he's a lousy writer or had a lousy translator, but nobody seems to have told him to show rather than tell. And I'm still reeling from the horrendous infodumps.

I started to read the book once but gave up, utterly perplexed at why people had been giving it rave reviews, less than quarter of the way through.

I'm glad it's not just me!

I took it to read on a plane, which is the only reason I read enough of it to get through to the end. There was a decentish plot in there, I think, but it was massively overwritten and badly told. And the eponymous character, who I thought was the most interesting, didn't get nearly enough page time.

Sorry to say, it's been done.
