BtVS Drabble: Burial Detail
I came across a fic in the Pit of Voles called The Hardest Thing She's Ever Done with the following summary: *One Shot* Buffy does the hardest thing she's ever had to do - bury Rupert Giles. I didn’t read it but the summary inspired me to write a drabble… 100 words, PG

Burial Detail

Tears streamed down Buffy’s face as she tipped the shovel and deposited a pile of earth into the grave. Soil flew into the air as she swung the shovel again. She let more dirt fall onto Giles’ body. The cycle repeated, over and over again, for what seemed like hours.

“The hardest thing in this world,” she sobbed, “is burying my Watcher.”

Xander, looking on, frowned. “I don’t want to criticize, Buff,” he said, “but maybe that’s because you’re doing it all wrong. I can’t help thinking that it would have been a lot easier if you’d killed him first.”

out of curiosity, could you link the story that prompted you to write this.

http://www.fanfiction.net/s/5824901/1/The_Hardest_Thing_Shes_Ever_Done
and I've now built a link to the story into my summary. I read it while I was getting the url and, after doing so, I wished I hadn't bothered. It's not utterly dreadful but that's about all I can say for it.

Not even close to being a pale shadow of Beer Good Foamy's fic dealing with the reverse situation, Mission Accomplished.
