Drabble: The Battle At Pooh Corner
Second post of the day; spamming in celebration of my new 8Mb/s broadband! Here’s an insane drabble that has suddenly popped into my head. Dedicated to quinara. Perhaps the world’s first ever Gladiator/Winnie the Pooh crossover fic! 100 words, G.

The Battle At Pooh Corner

Eduardus Ursus, Winnie ille Pu, sat on a camp stool and ate Hunny while he pondered the situation. He wasn’t sure how he had come to be in command of a Roman army but he would do his best. The legionaries seemed to know what they were doing; perhaps he could just give the command and let them get on with it.

On the other side of the valley the Germanic tribesmen were, for some strange reason, performing a traditional Zulu chant. Winnie ille Pu frowned and stood up.

“On my signal,” he called out to the legions, “unleash Bother.”

Hee! Fun!

(I loved the proper Pooh-ish spelling of "Hunny"...)

THIS IS AMAZING! Hee!

In this instance, does Bother have any similarity to what the Potter Puppet Pals get up to?

Thank you!

Thank you! Glad you liked it.

'Bother' is just Pooh-ese for 'Hell'. I think that the Marcomanni tribes would react to Puppet Pal-style 'bothering' as effectively as Snape did with the Avada Kedavra retaliation.

True. I wonder what form it would take, though...

Those Germanic tribesmen are in for a heap of trouble now!

It would be even worse for them if they had to face Paddingtonus Ursus from Darkest Peru.

They'd tremble at the hard stare.

I think you have just cornered the niche market and made it your own. I love the extremely Pooh-ish stream of thoughts.

I think I've cornered just about every niche market apart from the ones that beer_good_foamy has cornered.

Thank you!

My school has a club called Pooh Corner. They sit in a corner and nostalgically read old Children's books.
