Emancipate yourself from mental slavery by not eating... - Words in the Heroes' Tongue

Emancipate yourself from mental slavery by not eating...
I don't normally go in for publicly mocking badfic - it's cruel and usually non-productive - but this example, found when browsing TtH for stories in the 'Dungeons and Dragons' crossover category, contains one error (among many) that I just couldn't resist. It hasn't been updated since Feb 2005 and so I expect that the author has left the fandom anyway.

From a story in which Faith goes to a hybrid LotR/D&D world;

It was a wolf, but a thin, emancipated one – yet it was by no means sickly, as one look at its’ livid green eyes could tell you.

Good one, I just tried to read a published e-book where a woman's heart froze and beat faster at the same time on seeing her soul mate's livid green eyes.

Maybe your author went pro.

YAY for wolf emancipation!!! It's about time. They should be allowed to take care of their own affairs as they tend to do well when left alone. All this wolf farming and wolf adoption and so forth is just unnatural.

LOL

One thing different with your post and those that bash for pleasure is that the attitude is one of amusement over the wrong word as opposed to publicly holding a writer up for ridicule....VERY different vibe IMHO. I laugh at my own errors like this one (although my wonderful Beta catches them for the most part) and don't mind others laughing too (I love being the butt of my own jokes)...that is far different from someone trashing my ability to write or an entire story based on something like this.

Re: Wolf-Back!

Twisting the Hellmouth, a huge archive specialising in crossover fic with over 10,000 stories. It's not all crossovers but at least 50% of any contributing author's stories, and at least 50% of the word count of his/her stories, must be crossovers. BtVS/AtS doesn't count as a crossover.

I've often heard emancipated wolves have trouble finding work.
